Bunny George Finds A Golden Egg
Chapter One
Bunny George is soft and warm.
His fur is gold and brown.
He lives in Daisy’s Flower Shop
On Richmond Street in town.
He nibbles on stems
And sleeps on a pillow
Surrounded by flowers
In the front window.
George was eating his dinner
When something rolled out on the floor
A smooth golden egg was under the leaves
It never was there before!
“Oh no! Golden Egg!
Where’s your Mummy?”
asked Bunny.
He didn’t know what to do.
Eggs need to be warm.
Eggs need to be safe.
“I’ll have to look after you.”
He took the egg to his pillow.
All night he kept it warm.
When Daisy opened the Flower Shop
Farmer Tom’s truck pulled up from the farm.
Bunny George hopped out to tell them
About the egg he was keeping warm.
Farmer Tom stepped out of his truck
And then there was a big surprise!
Out stepped a tall Prince in black velvet
Followed by six Ballerinas in long white dresses
Followed by a furious Swan..
She was
honking and hissing
fluffing and flapping
She suddenly went very still.
She lifted her head and sniffed all around.
She flew straight to the egg
On Bunny’s pillow.
Ballerina Katerina turned to Bunny.
You saved the Swan’s egg!
To thank you
I will grant you one wish.
Bunny George said
Oh please
I wish I could meet
Some bunnies.
Yes, Bunny George
You were born at the Flower Farm.
We will take you to meet your family.
When all the flowers were unloaded
Farmer Tom called
ALL ABOARD!
Daisy told her brother Tom
Bring Bunny George back on Thursday.
I will bake a carrot cake
We will celebrate
His big adventure.
