Bunny George Rides in the Flower Truck

Chapter Two

Farmer Tom took the wheel
The Prince held the Swan
On Bunny’s pillow
Where her egg was safe and warm.
Katerina lifted Bunny George 
Up high so he could see.
The Ballerinas sat together happily.

Tom drove west
Away from town
Through fields and forests
Bunny’s eye’s were wide with wonder.
They came upon a hill.
The truck climbed up.

As far as the eye could see 
Were fields of flowers
And a forest
Surrounding a lake.

Bunny George could see bunnies.
Bunnies all around.
Over here. Over there.
Hopping and eating, he saw bunnies everywhere.

Farmer Tom stopped in the field.
Katerina took Bunny George 
Up to a bunny who sniffed him.
Introduce yourself, she said.

Hello, I’m Bunny George.  Are you my brother?

George! Is that you? 
I’m Gordie.
Let me thump up the family.
Thump, thump, thump.

Across the fields 
And out of the woods
Bunnies came bounding.
They surrounded Bunny George.
