Bunny George Thumps Up the Family

Chapter Five

Bunny George hopped in a hurry
Down from the Castle through the fields
To the Ballerina Barn
He stood at the front door and
He thumped up the family!

Bunnies came running
Across the fields and out of the woods.

They gathered around as
The Prince came up the hill
Carrying the Swan
On Bunny George’s pillow
Again.

Let’s all go inside said the Prince.
I need your help.
Together we are going to break the spell
And bring back Mary Louise
The Ballerina

He put the Swan in the middle of the room.

Bunnies! Make a circle around her.
I will get the Book of Spells
It’s on top of the piano
And find the right spell-
here it is-
How to turn a Person into a Swan.

I’m going to read the spell out loud
In BACKWARDS order

I need you to hop
COUNTER
CLOCKWISE
Around the Swan
Go faster and faster
Don’t stop until
There is a
POOF

The Bunnies assembled
Around the Swan.
The Prince started to read
From the end
In backwards order.

Winter Fall Summer Spring
Sunrise Night Sunset Day
Web feet work in water
Long toes hug the land.
Short legs are for paddling
Long legs are built to stand.
Wings with feathers fly the sky
Arms with fingers
Embrace and hold hands

Oceans Estuary Mighty River
Creek Tributary Glacier Field
Beak eats grasses under water,
Nostrils close up against the current.
But Lips smile wide and
They tell a story, kiss and sing,
And swallow dinner.

The bunnies hopped faster and faster
They were hopping so fast
They were falling all over each other

POOF

A radiant sparkly poof
Appeared and cleared
Standing in the middle of the circle
Was Mary Louise
Smiling

You saved me
She said to the Prince

Never leave me
He said to Mary Louise.

All the Bunnies thumped their feet!

Bunny George was so glad
That the bunnies had come
When he thumped
And it all turned out.

He took his pillow back down
To the empty swan nest.
He needed a solid sleep
And he was thinking
To himself…..

Tomorrow is Thursday
Farmer Tom is taking me back to
Daisy’s Flower Shop.
Daisy is making me Carrot Cake
To celebrate my adventure.

He slept like a rock.

In the morning
Farmer Tom and the Prince
Loaded up
the Flower Truck.
Bunny George brought his pillow.
Grace, Gordie, Geraldine and Garibaldi
Came to say goodbye and please
Come back soon.

Mary Louise climbed on board beside
The Prince and Bunny George.
Farmer Tom is taking us to City Hall
To get married!
She told Bunny George.
Then we will come to Daisy’s Flower Shop
To celebrate.
